Riding my elder brothers’ Vespino, Mobylette and Montesa 360cc at an early age, then owning my first motorbike at sixteen, marked the start of my life on two wheels. Since then, I’ve stayed close to bikes from touring under the California sun to exploring Iceland’s wild backroads, most often solo, sometimes in small, private groups.
Travelling has always been in my DNA, perhaps inherited from my British mother and my father from northern Spain, who both travelled widely.
I’ve had the curiosity, luck and deep interest to visit over fifty countries and to absorb some of the most remote, adventurous and breathtaking corners of the world, driven by a genuine passion for discovering people, culture and place — usually travelling solo, as I believe that is how new places are best discovered.
That sparked a wish to explore — on my own terms — Andalusia, the land where I was born and raised, taking in the beauty of its country roads, villages and people on my precious Bonnie T100, my companion for the past eleven years.
Professionally, I spent almost thirty years production managing international TV commercial shoots across Europe and the Americas for leading global brands and renowned production companies, working with celebrated figures from around the world in film, sport, fashion and the arts. That environment taught discipline, risk awareness and high standards of client care.
Cinematic Retro Rides is where those experiences meet motorcycling: film craft on two wheels, expressed through meticulous preparation, considered pacing and clear, bilingual communication.

Cinematic Retro Rides is a boutique guided motorcycle touring business based in Mijas, Malaga, built around a simple idea: inland Andalusia is best experienced at a measured pace, on roads with character, in small groups and with enough time to notice what surrounds the ride. Behind the Scripts (tours) are carefully planned guided motorcycle tours in Andalusia that bring together scenic paved country roads, current-generation Triumph Bonneville T100 motorcycles, local places and optional Experiences without turning the journey into a rigid package.
The cinematic language is part of the identity, but the substance remains firmly rooted in the road and the places travelled through. Scripts, Scenes, Cast and Gallery provide a way of telling the story, while the experience itself is shaped by riding, landscape, local character and a deliberately personal scale.
Cinematic Retro Rides is designed around small-group motorcycle touring rather than high-volume tourism. Groups are limited to a maximum of six riders plus the guide, allowing the pace, stops and practical organisation of each day to remain manageable and personal.
Being based in Mijas provides a natural starting point for reaching the inland roads of Malaga and travelling further through Andalusia on multi-day Scripts. The emphasis is not on busy coastal routes, motorways or major urban centres, but on quieter paved roads, white villages, mountain areas, farmland and rural settings where the journey itself remains central.

A typical day is built around a measured rhythm of riding and natural pauses. Coffee stops, viewpoints, villages, lunch and optional Experiences can form part of the day without overwhelming the reason for being there in the first place: to enjoy travelling through Andalusia by motorcycle.
Exact routes can vary according to the Script (tour), dates, season, conditions and options selected for the booking. This keeps the planning purposeful while avoiding the feeling of a fixed itinerary repeated regardless of circumstances.
The established Scripts (tours) run from one to five days, giving riders a clear choice of duration while keeping the same underlying touring philosophy. Each format provides structure, but it is not intended to lock every journey into an identical sequence of roads, stops and activities.
Duration, dates and selected options help shape the final composition. Multi-day tours add carefully selected accommodation and allow the journey to develop further through inland Andalusia, while optional meals and Experiences can add cultural and gastronomic depth when chosen.

The current-generation Triumph Bonneville T100 is part of the identity of every guided Script. Its modern-classic styling complements the visual character of inland Andalusia, while its contemporary engineering, upright riding position and smooth power delivery make it well suited to the type of paved country-road touring around which the routes are built.
These are modern motorcycles with classic British character, not vintage or restored machines. That distinction allows riders to enjoy the feel and appearance associated with the Bonneville name without giving up the reliability and practical usability expected from a current-generation motorcycle.
The motorcycles are treated as part of the journey rather than simply transport between stops, which is why they form the Cast within the Cinematic Retro Rides identity.
The small-group format also shapes the role of the guide. Guidance is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, covering the practical side of the journey as well as communication on the road through Mesh intercoms.
With a maximum of six riders, it is easier to maintain a comfortable group rhythm, communicate clearly and adapt sensibly to the circumstances of the day without the rigid logistics of a large touring group. The focus remains on a guided experience that feels organised but not impersonal.
From the welcome coffee and briefing on day one through the riding stages and overnight stops on multi-day tours, the intention is to keep the practical organisation clear so riders can concentrate on the road and the places around them.
The names used throughout Cinematic Retro Rides are drawn from the language of cinema: Prologue, Scripts, Scenes, Cast, Gallery, Behind the Scenes and Director's Notes. They create a consistent identity around the idea that a motorcycle journey can unfold like a story, with its own rhythm, settings, characters and memorable moments.
That language is not intended to turn the tour into a staged production. It provides a framework for describing an experience in which the road, the motorcycle, the landscape and the encounters along the way all contribute to the whole.
